- Vehicle registration numbers you submit for analysis
- Reports generated from your searches
- Subscription and payment information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details)
- Usage data (number of searches, subscription tier)
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and improve the Service
- Manage your account and subscription
- Enforce usage limits
- Display your report history in your dashboard
3. Public Reports
By default, reports generated on MotCheck are public and accessible via a unique shareable link. Public reports may appear on the Leaderboard. No personally identifiable information is included in public reports — only the vehicle registration, analysis data, and asking price.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Clerk — Authentication and user management
- Supabase — Database storage (hosted in EU)
- Stripe — Payment processing
- Anthropic — AI analysis (vehicle data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing)
- DVSA / DVLA APIs — Official UK government vehicle data
5. Data Retention
Reports are retained indefinitely to provide the Leaderboard and sharing functionality. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our records, but anonymised reports may remain publicly accessible.
6. Cookies
We use minimal cookies for:
- Session management (Clerk authentication)
- Anonymous usage tracking (to enforce the free daily check limit)
- Search cooldown enforcement (2-minute cooldown between searches)
